A heartbreaking levaya was held on Friday for Rabbi Shmuly Altein, who served as a shliach to Winnipeg, Canada, and in recent years as a shul rabbi in Wesley Hills, NY, who passed away on Gimmel Tammuz after a lengthy illness.

He is survived by his wife, Adina, and children: Mussi, JJ, Sroly, Goldy, and Yossi.
He is also survived by his parents, Rabbi Avrohom and Brocha Altein of Winnipeg, Canada, his siblings, Mrs. Chanie Zaklikovsky, Mrs. Nechama Piekarski, Mrs. Rivky Strasberg, Rabbi Yisroel Altein, Rabbi Tzvi Altein, Mrs. Shayna Matusov, Rabbi Boruch Altein, and Rabbi Mendel Altein, his grandmother, Mrs. Etya Jurkowicz, and his in-laws, Rabbi Mendel and Rochel Duchman of Los Angeles, California.
