The Monsey Chabad community gathered on Sunday for a Siyum Sefer Torah, welcoming a new Torah to Chabad of Olympia, led by R’ Dudi Farkash.

The Torah was initiated by Rabbi Yosef and Tzuppy Goldberg of Boro Park last summer. Rabbi Moshe Klein of Hasofer connected them with a sofer in Eretz Yisroel, who wrote the Torah over the past year.

In the past few months, R’ Yosef’s health has been precarious, and he is currently in the need of a refuah shleima. After asking a number of rabbonim, the family decided to go ahead with the Siyum and Hachnosas Sefer Torah in the merit of their father.

The new Torah was completed at the Goldberg home in Monsey, and paraded to Chabad of Olympia with music and dancing. On arrival, participants took part in joyous hakafos, followed by a seudas mitzvah and chassidishe farbrengen.

Please say Tehillim for the refuah shleima of Yosef ben Rochel.
