The ‘Gaaguim’ project—dedicated to preserving and sharing authentic Chabad niggunim—is pleased to present an original and moving rendition of the traditional Niggun for Shabbos and Yom Tov, also known as Niggun 78.

This timeless melody, in this particular version, was once well-known and cherished among Chassidim, and was sung in Chabad yeshivos for many years. As attested by the mashpia, Reb Sholom Ber Butman a”h, this was indeed the way it was sung in the Tomchei Temimim yeshiva network.

Over the years, a different and less accurate version became widespread. The recording now released follows the authentic version as sung by Reb Shamshon Charitonov and other respected baalei neginah.

It is noteworthy that the origin of this niggun lies outside of Chabad, and in its original sources, the musical structure is close to the rendition now presented.

Now, this beloved niggun is brought to life anew, with the original Chabad style and flavor, in a fresh and uplifting arrangement that is sure to inspire the heart of every Chossid.
