Frierdiker Rebbe’s Defiance Inspires Chicago Community
In an on-stage conversation on Yud Beis Tammuz in Chicago, Rabbi Dovid Eliezrie joined Rabbi Yakov Danishefsky to discuss the Frierdiker Rebbe’s defiance of Soviet oppression and the enduring strength of Chassidus and Chabad.
Commemorating Yud-Beis and Yud-Gimmel Tamuz, guest speaker Rabbi Dovid Eliezrie was joined by interviewer Rabbi Yakov Danishefsky for an in-depth discussion on Chassidus at a joint event in Chicago Sunday evening celebrating the Chag Hageula.
The program was preceded by Mincha, after which the event began.
The guest speaker, Rabbi Dovid Eliezrie, is a Shliach in Yorba Linda, California, where he serves as director of North County Chabad Center. He is best known for authoring the best-selling book The Secret of Chabad and Undaunted, a historical biography chronicling the life of the frierdiker Rebbe and his defiance against Soviet oppression.
The interviewer, Rabbi Yakov Danishefsky, is an author, educator, and podcast host in Chicago. Holding Semicha and a Master’s degree in Jewish Philosophy, he leads Mind Body Therapy and teaches Chassidus at Avodas HaLev.
Following maariv as the formal program concluded, the community stayed for a farbrengen.
