Detroit Anash Hold Kinus Torah and Special Fabrengen

An insightful Kinus Torah was held in Detroit on Chol Hamoed Pesach, followed by a special farbrengen led by Rabbi Sholom Ber Chaikin of Cleveland, Rabbi Elyokim Wolf of Morristown/Eretz Yisroel, and Rabbi Shmaya Shmotkin of Detroit.

A special Kinus Torah was held on Chai Nissan, the second day of Chol Hamoed Pesach, in Detroit, followed by a spirited farbrengen that continued late into the night.

The Kinus featured a lineup of engaging presenters, each addressing timely and practical Torah topics:

Rabbi Dov Yehuda Steinmetz spoke about the halachos of ona’ah (overcharging) and geneivas daas (deception), with a focus on the chidush of the Alter Rebbe.

Hatomim Dovid Meir Malek delivered a pilpul on the halachic implications of ending a seudah on Erev Pesach before sof zman achilas chometz, and whether one would still be obligated to recite Birchas Hamazon if continuing the meal without bread.

Rabbi Mendel Greenberg, shliach in Ohio, addressed the complex issue of preparing for the Seder when Pesach begins on Motzei Shabbos, and the permissible methods for doing so within the halachic framework.

Rabbi Shaya Gurary, shliach in Virginia, presented a fascinating overview of the minhag of Kos Shel Eliyahu, including its sources and customs associated with it.

Following the Torah presentations and Maariv, the crowd was joined by Rabbi Sholom Ber Chaikin of Cleveland, Rabbi Elyokim Wolf of Morristown/Eretz Yisroel, and Rabbi Shmaya Shmotkin of Detroit, along with many other Chassidim, for a heartfelt Chai Nissan farbrengen that extended well into the night, highlighting the day’s significance—the birthday of the Rebbe’s father, Harav Levi Yitzchok, and the bris of the Rebbe himself.

On Tuesday of Chol Hamoed, Rabbi Shmuel Levertov and Rabbi Shmaya Shmotkin arranged a Tzivos Hashem rally for children, enhancing the Yom Tov spirit for the youngest members of Klal Yisroel.
