The heartbreaking news of the untimely passing of Rabbi Shneur Zalman Oirechman, A”H, who was tragically killed in a horrific car accident on the Coastal Highway, has left the community in shock and pain.
Rabbi Oirechman is survived by his devoted wife, née Lasker of Kfar Chabad, and their four young children—the oldest just eight years old.
He was the son of yblcht”a Rabbi Moshe Shmuel Oirechman, a longtime shliach of the Rebbe in the Krayot. Rabbi Shneur Zalman was a member of the Vaad of the Sefer Torah Haklali, headed by his father, and dedicated himself wholeheartedly to enrolling Jews from all walks of life into this initiative, fulfilling the Rebbe’s ratzon kodesh with true mesirus nefesh.
He is remembered as a chossid with a warm, shining presence, filled with ahavas Yisroel, a love of kindness, and a deep commitment to spreading Yiddishkeit and chassidus wherever he went. His sudden petirah has brought shock and sorrow to the Chabad community and the Rebbe’s shluchim around the world.
