Crown Heights Shomrim has compiled a list of 9 tips to help families stay safe this summer. Tips mostly surround the inherent risk of leaving your home empty for long periods of time. A few tips to mitigate the risk include setting lights on a timer to give the appearance someone is home, and not letting mail or packages overflow.
Shomrim also mentions the risk of leaving children in the car during the heat of the summer with their number one tip being, “NEVER LEAVE A CHILD IN THE CAR EVEN FOR JUST A MINUTE.”
