Hundreds of Crown Heights residents showed up at the Oholei Torah ballroom on Tuesday to donate whole blood and whole blood with convalescent plasma for those recovering from Covid-19.

The blood drive was organized by Ahavas Chesed in partnership with the New York Blood Center.

Ahavas Chesed blood drives draw donations from dozens of Brooklyn residents each month. This blood is especially appreciated by patients undergoing scheduled surgery or chemotherapy who may be more comfortable receiving blood from a known source.
