Dovi’s Camp Gan Israel of Florida is delighted to announce the opening of a new division catering to Bar Mitzvah-age boys. Carefully crafted to provide a Chassidishe summer of fun, this program will combine an exciting schedule of trips and activities with a serious learning program, tailored to the unique needs of young bochurim.

The recent purchase of a beautiful 100-acre campus in Fruitland Park, just north of Orlando, provides the perfect location for this new program. The Bar-Mitzvah Division will have its own designated area within the wider campgrounds, fittingly called “The Hideaway.” With twelve luxuries air-conditioned cabins, a zal, and separate sports fields for volleyball, soccer, and football, “The Hideaway” offers the perfect setting for a transformative summer of fun and growth amidst the tranquility of nature.

Camp founder, Rabbi Yosef Biston, is particularly excited about this new division, which will provide another option for parents who often struggle to find a spot in the limited number of other Chabad summer programs for this age group.

Until Tu B’Shevat, registration is open specifically for Florida residents and camp alumni. Registration will then open for applicants from outside Florida until Chof Bais Shevat. In response to the anticipated high demand, parents are encouraged to register promptly.

The 5784 sessions are scheduled as follows:

1st session: July 2 (26 Sivan) – July 29 (23 Tammuz)

2nd session: July 29 (29 Tammuz) – Aug. 20 (16 Tammuz)

This year’s head staff, Shua Slavin and Tzemach Shanowitz, come with a wealth of experience in leading programs for young bochurim. Their passion and dedication are paramount in providing a summer filled with Chassidishe chayus and a geshmak in learning. We are enthusiastic that this new division will uplift our bar mitzvah boys at this crucial time in their lives.

For questions about this program, please contact Rabbi Yossi Goldblatt, the Camp Director, at [email protected] or call (954) 970-9551.

Reflecting on our journey over the past four decades and looking to the future with the introduction of the Bar-Mitzvah program, Dovi’s Camp Gan Israel stands proud in our mission to provide an immersive summer experience that imbues our campers with Yiddishkeit and Chassidishkeit 24 hours a day. In line with the Rebbe’s vision, we believe that a summer spent in camp can have a profound impact on our children, sometimes even more than a year of formal schooling.
