Camp Gan Israel Overnight Florida announced that it has acquired a second campsite in Groveland, Florida, to serve the boys division and a new Bar Mitzvah Division. The girls camp will continue at the Lake Worth property.
Camp Gan Israel Overnight Florida announced that it has acquired a second campsite in Groveland Florida. The Groveland site will be home for Camp Gan Israel Overnight Boys Florida, while Camp Gan Israel Overnight Girls Florida will continue at the Lake Worth property.
“We are very excited that we will now be able to offer an eight week camping experience (two four week sessions) for our boys division and a four week camping experience for our girls division,” said Rabbi Yosef Biston, Executive Vice President and Director of Chabad of North Broward & South Palm Beach.
“We are grateful to Rabbi Schneur Zalman and Mimi Fellig, their help and support made this acquisition possible,” Rabbi Biston said.
The new site in Groveland is thirty minutes from Orlando and its world-famous theme parks and a three-hour drive from Miami. The camp boasts a total of five lakes situated on its 120-acre property. The campers sleep in beautiful chalets. There is an Olympic-sized pool, indoor air-conditioned gym, basketball courts as well as soccer and baseball fields.
Camp Gan Israel Overnight Florida is known for its commitment to excellence in camping. The boys experience the warmth and beauty of Yiddishkeit in a safe, nurturing, educational and chassidish and fun filled environment. Counselors are crucial, and all members of the CGI Overnight Florida staff are thoroughly trained and carefully selected.
New for this year, the camp will be adding a Bar Mitzvah Division – BMD. This unique program is geared for boys aged 13. The BMD will be offering a more advanced level of learning and study along with more frequent field trips, pro-style sports, separate division leaders and much more.
The dates for Camp Gan Israel Overnight Boys is June 22nd through August 16th.
The dates for Camp Gan Israel Overnight Girls is July 1st through July 27th.
