Judaism and the American Presidency

Watch: Florida Shliach Rabbi Pinchas Taylor, gives an in-depth lecture on the relationship some Presidents had with the Jewish community, and the relevance that a Presidential inauguration has to the Jewish community.

The United States is unique. It’s a modern republic, rooted in the Bible, grounded in religious tolerance. Many of the early European settlers saw themselves as reliving the paradigm of the exodus: fleeing a wicked king, crossing a sea, and establishing a nation that would serve heaven.

The Rebbe, among other great rabbinic leaders, praised the United States regarding many of its founding principles, as well the nation’s relationship with the Jewish community. Rabbi Pinchas Taylor, a shliach in south Florida, gave an in-depth lecture on this fascinating topic to a Chabad-house crowd, explaining a brief history of the United States, the relationship some Presidents have had with the Jewish community, and the relevance that a Presidential inauguration has to the Jewish community.
