Thousands of children and families marched through the streets of Antwerp in heavy rain for a Lag B’omer parade. Local schools, including Satmar, Belz, and Yavneh schools, ended school early to join the parade.

Thousands of children and families joined Chabad of Antwerp, led by shliach Rabbi Shabtai Slavaticki, for a Lag Baomer parade and program.
The parade, organized by Rabbi Yossi Slavaticki, associate director of Chabad of Antwerp, was led by a Tzivos Hashem marching band and a giant puppet affectionately nicknamed “HaAdmor MiMeron.” Local schools, including Satmar, Belz, and Yavneh schools, ended school early to join the parade.
Although it took place during rush hour, the police agreed to block off the streets. The heavy downpour did not discourage the children who marched happily through the rain in honor of Rashbi. Bochurim from the local Chabad mesivta brought the energy and lebedikeit.
The crowd marched proudly through the streets until they reached the Aguda Zal where a program had been set up. Participants divided the Tehillim and Mishnayos in memory of those who passed away in Meron.
Harav Aron Schiff, Chief Rabbi of Machzikei Hadass in Antwerp, shared words of Torah and inspiration. The children enjoyed a spectacular performance followed by music and dancing.
