200 Spend Shabbos Selichos in Lubavitch Village

Two hundred yungeleit, bochurim, and mekuravim traveled to the historic village of Lubavitch for an uplifting Shabbos culminating in the first Selichos near the Ohel.
Groups of travelers departed Moscow on Friday afternoon to spend the first Selichos Shabbos in the village of Lubavitch, the cradle of Chabad Chassidus.
The Shabbos was organized by the local shliach, Rabbi Gavriel Gordon, with the assistance of Rabbi Nachman Vaksman, and drew some 200 avreichim and students. Among them was a group from Yeshiva Gedolah, accompanied by its director, Rabbi Yechezkel Lazar.
Also joining were Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Mondshine, shliach and rov of nearby Smolensk, and Rabbi Shimon Bergman, shliach and rov of Nizhny Novgorod. Each traveled with a group of mekuravim from his city for a Shabbos of inspiration and spiritual growth.
Shabbos morning began early with the recitation of the entire Tehillim near the Ohel and continued with davening, shiurim, and Chassidishe farbrengens throughout the day.
Following Shabbos, a Melave Malka farbrengen was held in the large zal of the original Tomchei Temimim yeshiva. After midnight, the participants gathered in the shul adjacent to the Ohel, where Rabbi Zalman Shimon Deren led the first Selichos with Chassidishe warmth and emotion.
