Young shluchim marked Gimmel Tammuz with Farbrengen-in-a-Box kits, encouraging them to lead family gatherings. These initiatives by MyShliach helped add to the feelings of hiskashrus for Shluchim families this past Gimmel Tammuz.
“Welcome! I’m very excited to welcome you to our farbrengen, which will certainly give the Rebbe much nachas and bring Moshiach closer! I’m sure you’ll enjoy everything we have prepared for you!”
With these words—read from beautifully designed booklets—hundreds of young shluchim the world over opened their farbrengens. To mark Gimmel Tammuz, MyShliach gave young shluchim the opportunity to participate in spectacularly produced virtual farbrengens, as well as take the helm of their family gathering through the ever-popular Farbrengen-in-a-Box.
The 300+ Farbrengen-in-a-Box kits, shipped to six continents, were filled with everything needed for an interactive Farbrengen program. Exciting activities included a ‘Traveling to the Rebbe’ themed bingo game, a Seven-Seventy string art craft, and raffle tickets with prizes. The centerpiece was a richly detailed farbrengen booklet replete with stories and discussion topics, providing the young leaders with a comprehensive program to run the show.
These family farbrengens also allowed parents to share personal moments with the Rebbe they experienced. For example, Mrs. Hindel Levitin of Palm Beach, FL, shared that “the children-led farbrengen inspired my husband to share some of his memories. He showed our children the video of the Rebbe encouraging the singing of ‘We Want Moshiach Now’ for 90 uninterrupted minutes. He brought it alive by describing his recollections of that day.”
In addition to the do-it-yourself kits, the young shluchim had three virtual Farbrengens to join on Gimmel Tammuz day: one for boys, one for girls, and one for Hebrew speakers. Rabbi Yossi Elberg, Program Director of MyShliach, emphasized, “Empowering young shluchim to strengthen their hiskashrus, even while in their small corner of the world, is primary to our stated mission: ‘caring for the Rebbe’s children.’”
The Girls Farbrengen, which saw an impressive showing of hundreds of young Shluchos, was led by Mrs. Dina Druk. Meanwhile, the 300 boys who logged in to their respective Farbrengen were led by Rabbi Mendel Deitsch, with Rabbi Yossi Rapoport of Long Beach, CA, sharing inspiration.
The speakers emphasized the power of every act, no matter how small, in bringing about the arrival of Moshiach. They played an interactive Trivia game of Yedios Klaliyos about the Rebbe and Dor Hashvii, with prizes and raffles adding to the excitement. The young Shluchim who joined left feeling quite motivated and uplifted.
The Hebrew speakers’ Farbrengen, led by Rishon Letziyon Shliach Rabbi Yoel Baitch and Rabbi Yehuda Teichtel of Chabad Berlin, offered a similarly inspiring experience for the young Shluchim across Europe and Israel. The children had the opportunity to sing along with renowned singers and musicians Elisaf Chefetz and Davidi Nachshon. A video of the Rebbe, as well as a special live message from 770, added to the atmosphere.
All the farbrengens, both in person and virtual, concluded with the participants taking on practical hachlatos. These resolutions will carry on the inspiration from the farbrengens, encouraging the young shluchim in their unique Shlichusin “Our goal with MyShliach is to create a global community for young shluchim where they can interact with and inspire each other,” said Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice-Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch, “Hakhel events like these encourage the participants to joyfully illuminate their cities with Torah and Mitzvos, preparing the world together for the coming of Moshiach.”
