In a moving and uplifting display of kovod haTorah, the talmidim of Cheder Ohr Menachem and Temimim of YTTL Queens were zoiche to participate in a joyous Hachnosas Sefer Torah.

The event took place at a most auspicious time, as Klal Yisroel prepares to once again stand at Har Sinai and receive the Torah anew on Chag Hashovuos.

The Sefer Torah was generously donated by the Arabov family l’iluy nishmas their beloved father, Nissan ben Yechiel a”h. All was arranged by the dedicated menahel gashmi, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Sholomo Baruch, ensuring every detail reflected the dignity and simcha befitting such a historic occasion.

Following the siyum kesivas ha’osiyos at the Arabov residence in Queens, the Sefer Torah was brought to Cheder Ohr Menachem, where the parade set out with lively music and dancing through the streets of Crown Heights.

At 5:00 PM, the spirited procession began, with the zisse kinderlach of Cheder proudly leading the way, carrying flaming torches and singing pesukim with fiery enthusiasm. The menahel of the Cheder, Rabbi Mendel Yusewitz, shared: “To hear on Utica Ave. these pure Chassidishe voices, with their shining faces, created an authentic Yiddishe scene and a living expression of ‘B’na’areinu u’vizkeineinu neilech.’”

The procession made its way to the Mesivta division of YTTL Queens on Utica Avenue, where they were greeted by the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Sholom Dovid Geisinsky, together with the Mesivta bochurim and their menahel, Rabbi Yossi Hendel.

The hakafos were led by the menahel kloli, Rabbi Menachem Mendel HaKohen Hendel. Following the hakafos and dancing, a seudas mitzvah commenced, filled with nigunim and divrei Torah.

The celebration transformed into a grand Chassidishe farbrengen led by Rabbi Velvel Butman, with stories of ahavas haTorah by Raboseinu Nesieinu and hiskashrus, alongside a renewed commitment to Torah and a yearning for Torasoi Shel Moshiach, the “Torah chadasha mei’iti teitzei!” The farbrengen continued well into the early hours of the morning.
