The Shluchim Who Bring Yiddishkeit to NYC’s Tech World

For the past decade, Rabbi Mordechai and Chana Lightstone have been bringing Judaism to the world of tech and digital media in NYC with tailor-made classes and programs. Even as COVID-19 turned the world upside down, Tech Tribe found ways to connect.

Tech Tribe is a community of young Jewish doers and thinkers in the world of tech and digital media based in Brooklyn, New York.

Under the leadership of Rabbi Mordechai and Chana Lightstone, Tech Tribe offers an island of serenity, bringing personal connection amidst the chaotic digital inundation of modern life

Be it our flagship #openShabbat event at SXSW Interactive in Austin or at bespoke holiday parties in New York City, Tech Tribe brings digital sojourners together to connect and unplug, learn and connect – be it at a delicious Shabbat meal or a unique un-networking experience.

Judaism is best appreciated through the power of experience. Tech Tribe curates bespoke Jewish experiences, from artisanal pickling in the grand tradition of the Lower East Side to 3D printed dreidel design competitions.

Each experience brings professionals in tech and digital media together for a fun and fascinating evening.

However, all this was almost put to a halt. 2020 has been a trying year for all of us. Global pandemic, isolation … The world turned upside down. But instead of stopping, Tech Tribe used the year for positive transitions – of new life, new opportunities and growth.

Galvanized by the vision that a small light can dispel tremendous darkness, we’ve focused on encouraging positivity and connection, while socially distancing.

Not content to merely stay put during this year, we’ve used the time to grow even stronger.

From Seder in a Box to Judaism Unboxed, we’ve been ready to meet the needs of our community. 14,000 people have enjoyed Tech Tribe’s original online classes and videos, dozens join for monthly virtual Lunch and Learns at leading tech companies. We’ve created an outdoor event space for socially distant gatherings.

Now join us in doing even more!

While continuing to expand our virtual and at home-distanced options, we’re using this ‘quiet’ time to redo our event space at Tech Tribe HQ. We’ve launched phase one, expanding our backyard event space. Indoors is next! More room for Shabbat, classes and more!

As society slowly returns to normal, we want to meet our community with something truly exciting and new!

Your donation will help us expand our space, create new out of the box programs and find ways for people to connect!

Please partner with us, and share your passion for Tech Tribe with your friends.
Be it $18 or $1800, your investment will create a lasting impact.

$1000 sponsors our next holiday unboxed experience!

$2500 will allow us to research and create classes online, and eventually in person, at tech offices!
$5000 help us expand our HQ space!

And thanks to our generous sponsors EVERY DONATION WILL BE DOUBLED!

Take a look at our Deck. As an added plus, all donations of $180 and up will be given a year’s access to our Chai Society!
