A serious head-on collision occurred this evening on Route 8900 near Tzfas between two vehicles carrying Chabad chassidim. As a result of the accident, three adults and an infant were transported to Ziv Medical Center in Tzfas, each suffering varying degrees of injury.
Tragically, one of the adult victims, R’ Shmuel Baruch Chaviv, passed away at the hospital.
R’ Shmuel Baruch, son of Rabbi Yitzchak Chaviv of Yerushalayim, was known for his Ahavas Yisroel and dedication to the Rebbe’s shlichus. He was one of the devoted activists in the Ufaratzta Kibbutzim initiative, bringing the light of Chassidus to Yidden in remote kibbutzim with love.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Dina Chaviv, and their infant son, Menachem Mendel Dovid.
The levaya will take place Friday, the 20th of Nissan, departing at 9:30 AM from Heichal Levi Yitzchak shul in Tzfas, proceeding to the local cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
The public is asked to daven for the complete recovery of his wife, Dina Bracha bas Sarah, their infant son, Menachem Mendel Dovid ben Dina Bracha, and R’ Tomer ben Shoshana Marcel, a fellow member of Anash who was injured in the same accident.
May Hashem send a refuah sheleimah to the wounded and grant comfort to the grieving family.
