Who Set the School Policy?!

When administrators at a Lubavitch school decided to force children from non-Chabad backgrounds to daven with the Chabad nusach, the Rebbe was greatly disappointed and directed some sharp words at them.

Think Positive

Reb Avrohom Rotenberg, a Gerrer real estate agent, lived for two years at 777 Eastern Parkway and would frequent 770. When his father suffered a heart attack, the Rebbe advised him to “Think Good” and a miracle occurred.

The Students in the Middle

When Rabbi Moshe Herson served as a young mashpia at the Yeshiva in Newark, he wasn’t sure if he was making an impact. The Rebbe told him about three kinds of students and which ones he should focus on.

“He Is Something Else Entirely”

When a large donation was marked for “Lubavitch,” the Frierdiker Rebbe advised Reb Shlomo Aharon Kazarnovsky to consult with the Rebbe on where to direct the funds and he explained why there was no concern of bias.

A Heavy Load, But a Light Heart

Reb Nosson “Bobby” Vogel, one of the founders and leading supporters of Lubavitch Boys’ School of London, told the Rebbe that it was getting too hard. The Rebbe responded to him in “business language.”

Where the Baggage Gets Shredded

When a woman from the USSR told the Rebbe in yechidus that her husband is carrying “heavy baggage,” the Rebbe advised them to leave it with him and it will all get “shredded.”

“We Have the Ohel”

Every time Rabbi Shlomo Goren asked the Rebbe why he didn’t come to Eretz Yisroel, the Rebbe gave him a different response. But on his fourth visit, the Rebbe gave him the full answer.

A Child is Like a Tree

Since children are impressionable like a young tree, the Rebbe told Rabbi Mottel Altein, boys and girls of all ages should have separate school buildings.

“I Told You It Won’t Rain”

When the New York State Attorney General Louis J. Lefkowitz joined the Lag Baomer Parade, he expressed concern that it would soon rain. But the Rebbe assured him that he need not worry.
