Following a highly successful inaugural year, registration has officially opened for the 5787 academic year at Yeshivas “Ba’avur Dovid Avdecha” in Petach Tikvah, a unique framework established specifically for post-shlichus bochurim who are seeking a serious environment dedicated to Torah growth.
Founded in memory of the renowned Chabad leader, Harav Dovid Chanzin a”h, the yeshivah was established to provide older bochurim with a meaningful framework during a pivotal stage of life, enabling them to continue growing in Torah, Chassidus, and personal development.
Under the leadership of Rosh Yeshivah Rabbi Chaim Hillel Raskin, the yeshivah places a strong emphasis on intensive study of halacha, semicha and other fields of halacha with an emphasis on practical rabbinic knowledge and preparation for the official Rabbanut examinations. A unique feature of the program is its close partnership with Kollel Roni V’Simchi Bas Tzion, where the bochurim learn alongside experienced avreichim in an atmosphere of diligence and achievement. Baruch Hashem, a number of talmidim are currently preparing to take the Rabbanut examinations.
Beyond the walls of the beis medrash, the bochurim become an integral part of the rapidly growing Chabad community in Petach Tikvah. Through community involvement, outreach activities, shiurim, and assisting local families, they gain valuable experience in shlichus while continuing to develop as serious bnei Torah.
The yeshivah provides everything necessary for a bochur to dedicate himself fully to learning, including comfortable dormitory accommodations, full meals, experienced maggidei shiur and mashpi’im, and a structured daily schedule. In addition, stipends are awarded to bochurim for their consistent study of Chassidus during both the morning and evening sedorim, encouraging a balanced program of nigleh and Chassidus.
Looking ahead to the 5787 academic year, the yeshivah plans to expand its programming even further. Alongside continued growth in Torah learning, new shiurim and workshops will be introduced to help prepare bochurim for the next stage of life, including practical guidance and education related to building a Torah home and preparing for shidduchim.
Perhaps the greatest testimony to the yeshivah’s success comes from the bochurim themselves. As many of them express, “This is a place that allows us to live as serious bochurim,” a framework that combines high expectations with genuine warmth, enabling every talmid to grow in learning, Chassidishkeit, and personal responsibility.
With registration now underway for the 5787 year, Yeshivas Ba’avur Dovid Avdecha continues its mission of providing older bochurim with the opportunity to maximize these precious years through serious Torah study, preparation for rabbanus, meaningful involvement in the Chabad community, and the tools to build a lifelong future as devoted chassidim, rabbanim, and shluchim.
The yeshiva welcomes American bochurim, with multiple American bochurim having joined this year. Basic Hebrew is necessary for understanding shiurim.
