Rabbi Avraham Yosef Gellis, a Lubavitcher Chosid from Bnei Brak, Israel, passed away on Tuesday, Rosh Chodesh Sivan, 5782.

He was 86 years old.

Rabbi Gellis was a steadfast Chosid who merited to have Yechidus with the Frierdiker Rebbe and the Rebbe.

He was one of the founders of the Lubavitcher Shul in the Neve Achiezer neighborhood of Bnei Brak, Israel.

He is survived by his wife, Leah, and children: Nechama Kramer – Miami, Florida, Gita Steiner – Nachlas Har Chabad, Yisroel Gellis – Dimona, Israel, Raizy Fischer – Givat Shmuel, Israel, Aharon Gellis – Cochav Yair, Israel, Geulah Tal – Hod Hasharon, Israel, Dovid Gellis – Lod, Israel, Asher Gellis – Tel Aviv, Israel, Yehuda Gellis – Crown Heights, Avigail Weinberg – Bnei Brak, Israel, and Odelia Friedman – Kiryat Gat, Israel.

The levaya will take place today in Bnei Brak.
