Organizers Prepare for Historic 9th Children’s Torah Siyum

Ahead of the historic siyum of the ninth Sefer Torah for Yaldei Yisroel, a planning meeting was held at the office of the Kosel rabbi, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, with the participation of Rabbi Suli Eliav, CEO of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, and event organizers preparing for the grand gathering, which is expected to draw tens of thousands of participants.

Ahead of the historic siyum of the ninth Sefer Torah for Yaldei Yisroel, a special meeting took place today at the office of the Rov of the Kosel and Mekomos Hakdoshim. The meeting was led by the Rov of the Kosel and Mekomos Hakdoshim, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, and was attended by Rabbi Suli Eliav, CEO of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, members of the Rov’s office staff, members of the Sefer Torah committee, and the production team.

Rabbi Rabinowitz opened the meeting by warmly welcoming the participants. He spoke about the great zechus he and his office staff have had to accompany the Sifrei Torah for Yaldei Yisroel over the course of decades. He also shared that already in his youth he merited participating in these gatherings, which remain etched in his memory as uplifting and unique events of Jewish unity.

Following this, Rabbi Shmuel Greisman, chairman of the committee for the writing of the Sefer Torah for Yaldei Yisroel, addressed the gathering and emphasized the unique significance of this holy project. He noted that the Rebbe repeatedly stressed the great zechus and segulah found in being involved in writing a Sefer Torah, as well as the tremendous importance of every Jew taking part in this sacred endeavor.

Rabbi Greisman also highlighted the special significance of holding the Hakhnasas Sefer Torah at the Kosel plaza, in accordance with the Rebbe’s desire and instruction that the event take place at the holiest and most unifying location for the Jewish people.

Rabbi Greisman also thanked Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz and the staff of the Rov’s office for their tremendous assistance, dedicated support, and cooperation throughout the years, which enables the Hakhnasas Sifrei Torah for Yaldei Yisroel to take place at the Kosel plaza with the proper respect and appreciation for this holy project.

During the meeting, the tremendous success of the previous siyum was reviewed, which was attended by more than 30,000 people. The participants held extensive discussions regarding preparations for the upcoming event, which is expected to be even larger, more impressive, and more grand than before. They discussed details of the program, security arrangements, logistics, production, and crowd management, with the goal of ensuring a dignified and memorable gathering at the Kosel plaza.

The meeting was attended by members of the organizing committee for the event, Rabbi Shneur Zalman Raskin, the Rebbe’s shliach in Alfei Menashe, Rabbi Noam Roth of Tzeirei Agudas Chabad in Yerushalayim, Rabbi Mani Lerner of “Tzvaim Productions,” and senior members of the Rov’s office, including Rabbi Yossi Bloch, Mr. Eden Shimon, and members of the office staff.

As part of the preparations, the public is being called upon, in accordance with the Rebbe’s request and instruction, to take part in this great event and in the campaign of writing the Sefer Torah, in the Rebbe’s words: “To participate in the siyumim with his soul, (also) with his body, (also) with his money.”

The organizers are inviting the entire public to join and be part of this historic event, which unites tens of thousands of Jews from across Eretz Yisroel and around the world around the Sefer Torah of the Yaldei Yisroel.
