Friends and family gathered at the home of mashpia Rabbi Fitche Ofen in Yerushalayim to mark 25 years since the miraculous survival of his two sons, Rabbis Mendy and Shmuel, who were shot while doing Purim mivtzoim with IDF soldiers near Tarqumiyah.
On Shushan Purim, a Seudas Hoda’ah was held at the home of mashpia Rabbi Fitche Ofen in Yerushalayim marking 25 years since the miraculous survival of his two sons, Rabbi Mendy Ofen, shliach to the IDF and security forces, and his brother Rabbi Shmuel Ofen.
On Purim night, 5760 (2000), while en route to bring the joy of Purim to IDF soldiers near Tarqumiyah, the vehicle they were in was shot at and two brothers were hit and seriously injured. With Hashem’s kindness, they both recovered fully.
The seudas hodaah was attended by Anash, bochurim, soldiers, and friends, who joined together to thank Hashem and celebrate the occasion with a Chassidishe farbrengen.
