Mrs. Sarah Bleich, 90, AH
Mrs. Sarah Bleich, the matriarch of a large Torah family including shliach Rabbi Moshe Bleich, and the sister of Rabbi Shmuel Lew, passed away on Wednesday, 4 Sivan.
Mrs. Sarah Bleich, a longtime resident of Brooklyn and a devoted matriarch of a large Torah family, passed away following a life dedicated to Yiddishkeit, yiras shamayim, and chessed.
She was 90 years old.
Born to her parents, Dovid and Yenta Lew, she grew up in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, where her father was a Shomer Shabbos lawyer. She developed a close relationship with Lubavitch through the friendship and influence of her brother, Rabbi Shmuel Lew, and sister, Mrs. Mindy Feller a”h. That connection left a lasting imprint on her family and home.
She married her husband, R’ Reuvein Bleich, and together they first lived in Williamsburg before later settling in Boro Park. There, they built a warm and vibrant home replete with yiras shamayim, emunas chachamim, and askonus, raising generations deeply connected to Torah and Yiddishkeit.
She is survived by her children: R’ Pinchos Bleich of Brooklyn, NY; Mrs. Rochel Kalmanowitz of Brooklyn, NY; R’ Sholom Shachne Bleich of Lakewood, NJ; R’ Chaim Bleich of Woodridge, NY; Rabbi Yaakov Bleich of Kyiv, Ukraine; Mrs. Yenty Halpert of Monsey, NY; R’ Michoel Bleich of Forshay, NY; Mrs. Reina Tabak of Woodridge, NY; Rabbi Avrohom Bleich of Detroit, MI; and Rabbi Moshe Bleich of Wellesley, MA, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who continue her legacy.
She is also survived by her siblings, Mrs. Itty Mendelson (Brooklyn), Rabbi Shmuel Lew (London), and Rabbi Luzzy Lew (Lakewood).
She was predeceased by her husband, R’ Reuvein Bleich a”h, who passed away in Av of 5785.
Levaya today at 5:00 pm at the Shomrei Hadas Chapel – 3803 14th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11218.
