Mrs. Chana Fradil Boymelgreen, a Holocaust survivor and matriarch of a large Chabad family, passed away on Sunday night, 3 Nissan, 5782.

Mrs. Chana Fradil Boymelgreen, a Holocaust survivor and matriarch of a large Chabad family, passed away on Sunday night, 3 Nissan, 5782.

She was 97 years old.

Chana Fradil was born in 5685 in Lodz, Poland into a prominent family of Alexander Chassidim. After the Nazi invasion, her entire family was transported to Auschwitz, where they were all murdered. She and her sister were the sole survivors.

After liberation, she married Reb Mordechai Boymelgreen, another holocaust survivor. The couple emigrated to the central Israeli city of Petach Tikvah, where they were founding members of the Chabad Shul.

She is survived by her children, R’ Levi Yitzchok Boymelgreen, R’ Shaya Boymelgreen, and Mrs. Rachel Chitrik.

The Levaya will take place today, leaving Shomrei Hadas at 11:30 am and passing by 770 at 12:30 pm. The Aron will be transported to Eretz Yisroel for Burial on Har Hamenuchos.
