A worldwide project to have as many Jewish men as possible wrap tefillin will take place on Monday in memory of R’ Ariel Tzadik, who dedicated countless hours to mivtza tefillin and lost his life in the Meron tragedy.

R’ Ariel Tzadik, a prominent Lubavitcher Chossid from the Beyit Vegan neighborhood of Yerushalayim, was known as a big baal chesed, always looking for ways to help other people in need. He was very active in arranging Torah classes for mekuravim. He devoted his energy to the Rebbe’s mivtzoim, and to mivtza Tefillin in particular. He had a weekly mivtzoim route where he would go every Friday to help Yidden lay Tefillin, and would regularly volunteer at the Chabad Tefillin stand at the Kosel.

On Lag B’omer of this year, R’ Ariel was one of the 45 victims who lost their lives at the tragic accident at the kever of Rashbi on Mount Meron.

On Shabbos, the families and acquaintances of the victims marked their shloshim, thirty days since their tragic passing. The family of R’ Ariel, wishing to continue his legacy of ahavas yisroel and mivtzoim, decided to launch a one-day tefillin project to honor his memory.

The Meron Tefillin Project will take place on Monday, 20 Sivan, May 31st. With many in the USA marking Memorial Day and thus home from work, the day is perfect for reaching out to offer those one knows a chance to wrap tefillin.

To participate, wrap up, snap a picture and share on social media by tagging @TheMeronTefillinProject and using #tefillin4meron.

The organizers of the campaign also request that you send your photos by email to [email protected]
