Hundreds attended a day-long Hakhel community street fair and Simchas Beis Hashoeva in the Pico-Robertson area of Los Angeles, organized by Chabad of California and local Chabad centers.

Held in front of the famed 770 replica on Pico Blvd., the event began at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, the first day of Chol Hamoed, and continued until 10:00 PM that night, making for a full day of Sukkos fun and celebration.

Families enjoyed a street fair and carnival from 12:00 until 6:00, with rides, activities and kosher food for sale on the boulevard. Musical entertainment with performer “Rabbi B” was held at 1:00, 4:00 and 6:00, bringing the Yom Tov joy to tens of children and their parents.

The program then began with children’s Hakhel rally, led by Head Shliach Rabbi Shlomo Cunin. Children recited the 12 pesukim and joined together for Torah, tefilah and tzedaka, before joining in rousing song.

The evening concluded with a concert by singer Meilech Kohn and a grand Simchas Beis Hashoeva that had the very street dancing.
