Kasriel Nachman Keinan, 24, AH
After more than a week of intensive searches, the body of missing Lubavitcher bochur Kasriel Nachman Keinan was found Thursday afternoon in difficult terrain near the Swiss Forest outside Tiveria.
The body of Kasriel Nachman Keinan, the 24-year-old Lubavitcher bochur whose disappearance in Tiveria prompted an extensive search effort over the past week, was located on Thursday in the area of the Swiss Forest near Tiveria.
ZAKA said that at approximately 1:40 p.m., its emergency center received a report of a body discovered in difficult terrain near a cliff. Volunteers from ZAKA’s Northern District were dispatched to the scene, and following identification procedures it was confirmed to be the missing bochur.
Keinan had last been seen in the Tiveria area more than a week ago, setting off a major search involving police, rescue organizations, volunteers and family members. The search stretched across Tiveria and the surrounding region as authorities worked to trace his movements and determine what had happened after he disappeared.
Shai Levy, a ZAKA Northern District team leader who was at the scene, described the location as extremely difficult terrain near a cliff.
“After confirmation was received that this was the missing person for whom the searches had been conducted, we are working together with the rescue forces to recover the body from the area and ensure kovod hameis,” he said.
