Governor DeSantis Hosts Florida Shluchim for Chanuka

A Chanuka party and menorah lighting was hosted by Florida Governor and presential candidate Ron DeSantis at the Governor’s mansion in Tallahassee, Florida with several shluchim in attendance.

Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis hosted a Chanuka celebration at the Florida Governor’s Mansion in Tallahassee, Florida.

In attendance at the party, which was by-invite only, were a number of Chabad shluchim from across the state of Florida, including Rabbi Sholom Lipskar, Rabbi Benji Korf, Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz, Rabbi Meir Simcha Minkowicz, Rabbi Tzvi Dechter, and Rabbi Nochum Krinsky.

Governor DeSantis spoke about his strong support for the Jewish People in the State of Florida by providing support for private education, security funding and most recently Florida Highway Patrol protecting Jewish institutions.

The governor also spoke of his support for Israel, sending planes to evacuate after Oct 7th as well providing planes to bring most needed supplies to Israel. The governor spoke about his fight against antisemitism. 

Shliach Rabbi Sholom Lipskar from the Shul of Bal Harbor spoke about the miracle of Chanuka and thanked the governor for his strong support for the Jewish people and how Florida is the most desirable state to live in. 

Rabbi Lipskar as well as 3 families with direct connection to Israel and the Hostages were each Honored to light a Menorah. 

Everyone sang Chanukah songs and were treated to a Glatt Kosher buffet dinner with delicious Chanukah latkas and doughnuts. 

The 6 Chabad Shluchim thanked Governor Ron DeSantis for his support & took a Picture with the Governor.
