Gan Yisroel West, an overnight camp focused on outdoor activities in North Fork, California, has announced their head staff for the upcoming summer.
Gan Yisroel West, located on a 92-acre gorgeous campground adjacent to Manzanita Lake in North Fork, California. Situated in the California mountains, just 25 miles outside Yosemite National Park, with lots of wonderful activities like archery, kayaking, horseback riding, and even paintball shooting, all while staying on campus.
Campers will participate in sports, crafts such as leather working and woodworking, making their own pizzas in the outdoor pizza oven. The hiking trails include a three-mile hike through the camp property. They can kick back and relax and enjoy the beautiful star-filled nights. Campers are accommodated in rustic cabins and modern buildings and dine in the dining room and on the deck that overlooks beautiful forest terrain.
The variety of projects, trips and overnights are just some of the fun and amazing activities in store. By inspiring the campers with twice daily learning classes, Tzivos Hashem, Mishnayos Ba’al Peh and many other programs they breathe in a love for Yiddishkeit and Chassidus that lasts a lifetime, making Gan Yisroel West perfect for a Yeshiva/Cheder student.
This year’s head staff are Shmuel Leib Polter and Dovid Ezagui. Along with a hand picked group of staff, chosen for their dedication, responsibility and sense of adventure, will provide a summer experience unmatched.
The camp enjoys proximity to Bass Lake, Yosemite National Park, Mammoth Falls, and the majestic Sierra Nevada which are all destinations of the camp’s adventures. Manzanita Lake is where the campers go swimming, kayaking and sit under the fresh Pine trees to soak in the views of swans, ducks and Canada geese.
Dates for this year’s camp session are June 23 – July 20.
Gan Yisroel West is directed by Rabbi Shlomo and Aliza Menkes. Assistant directors Rabbi Leibel and Devory Khazanovich, who are coming with multiple years of experience in Gan Yisroel West as well as other camps. Gan Yisroel West is known for drawing campers from around the country, to join the vibrant CGI West family, year after year.
