Two weeks after having miraculously regained consciousness, Shmuel Amar, the most serious victim of the Crown Heights fire who until not long ago was in critical condition, is now breathing on his own.
In mid-Shvat, a horrific fire in an apartment of bochurim left seven bochurim injured, three critically. Boruch Hashem, they were all released except for Shmuel Amar, who was unconscious with severe burns on 60% of his body. For two months, he remained unconscious in the ICU, having undergone numerous surgeries to save his life.
Two weeks ago, in a miraculous development, Shmulik woke up and began communicating with his surroundings. He still remains hospitalized and will undergo procedures to undergo a full recovery with Hashem’s help.
Today, he was removed from all breathing machines, and he is able to breathe on his own.

Since the fire, Shmulik’s parents have come from Eretz Yisroel to be by his side and face huge expenses for his medical care and the living expenses for themselves and the rest of their family back in Eretz Yisroel.
