The largest international summit of young Jewish professionals began this morning with a Mega Challah Bake led by Mrs. Rochie Pinson, world challah baker and author.
Throughout the weekend, the 600 participants of CYP Encounter: Crown Heights will explore the vibrant Jewish community of Crown Heights, gaining a firsthand understanding of traditional Jewish life with visits to 770 Chabad World Headquarters, local Sofrim, Mikvahs and Yeshivos. It’s a chance to connect with fellow young Jews and their Jewish heritage, aligning with the broader goal of CYP Encounter– to empower the next generation of proud young Jewish leaders and advocates back home.
The Shabbaton will address the challenges today’s young Jewish professionals face, including feelings of hostility in the workplace and social scenes. The program offers a safe and empowering environment for participants to address these challenges and forge connections with like-minded young Jews.
For Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice-Chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch and Chairman of CYP International, this year’s Shabbaton comes at a uniquely impactful time for participants. “Young Jews today are asking themselves, ‘What can I do to make a difference.'” he says. “We’re eager to greet record numbers of attendees, and we’re looking forward to a deeply impactful program that promises to uplift, inspire, and leave an enduring impact.”
