Over 200 people gathered at Cheder Lubavitch Chicago during Chanukah, for an event honoring Kita Daled for the hard work they put into fundraising for the ‘Menorah of Protection.’
As part of their yearly tradition of building a special Chessed Menorah to fundraise for good causes, this year’s project, run by their teacher Rabbi Avraham Varnai, raised over $4500 for a ‘Menorah of Protection’ which will provide essential spiritual armor for IDF soldiers on the battleground.
The money is going -with much already well-used – to buy the soldiers high-quality Menorah kits, Teflilin, army Tzitzis, Seforim which soldiers had requested, and a donation to Chabad of Karmiel, Sderot. The materials were distributed by Rabbi Dovid Caytak of Yerushalayim who visited the bases and gifted them to the soldiers.
At the event, the dean of the school, Rabbi Yitzchok Wolf, congratulated Kita Daled as well as head shliach Rabbi Meir Shimon Moscowitz for all the Mitzvos that they were enabling and protection they gave to the soldiers with the gift of spiritual armor.
