Chanukah is a special time in Eretz Yisroel. Walking the streets, one can counts of menorahs. Listen carefully and you can hear music and singing from houses and shuls hosting Chanukah parties.

Even with all excitement, Chabad doesnt forget about those who could be easily overlooked. Menorah lightings and parties are arranged for those homebound, ill, in jails and in hospitals.

The IDF isn’t excluded either. Rabbi Mendy Ofen, shliach to the IDF and security forces brings the soldiers yiddishkeit the entire year. On Chanukah, Rabbi Ofen, and the other shluchim to the security forces arranged tens of events to bring the joy and warmth of Chanukah to thousands of soldiers stationed throughout Israel.

The shluchim came ‘armed’ with menorahs, candles, donuts, and music to dance with the soldiers. Warm thanks accompanied the shluchim as they left each party, heading to another army base for yet another Chanukah party.

The events were arranged under the auspices of Tzeirei Chabad of Eretz Yisroel, in collaboration with Ohr L’chayal and Friends of the Israel Defense Forces.
