In honor of Yud Aleph Nissan, Camp Gan Israel Toronto has released its first professional recording titled, ‘A Chossid is Never Alone’ written by Shneur Zalman Minkowitz, CGI Toronto 5772.

Rabbi Moshe Weinfeld from Toronto spent many hours in the recording studio practicing with the choir. The vocals were performed by Shloimy Antebi, Moshe Grossbaum, Sholom Jacks, Yakov Lang and Dovid Nelkin, all past and present campers.

“The song will bring back wonderful memories and foster the emotions of Hiskashrus that are poignantly experienced throughout the camp session,” the producers said.

During the month of August, CGI Toronto hosts a boys camp in the picturesque region of Haliburton, Ontario. The campers, ages 9-13, enjoy a full array of activities, but most importantly are imbued with a love for the Rebbe.

“Whether it’s the Shabbos atmosphere, a late night campfire, or the prevailing camaraderie, the endless excitement and positive reinforcement makes an indelible impact on each camper that lasts for many months,” said Rabbi Yitzchok Grossbaum, camp director.

“A Chossid is Never alone”

By: Shneur Zalman Minkowitz

In CGI TORONTO 5772

Far away and so alone he feels

His spirits low and torn inside
in the frost Reb Mendel slaves all day
Disconnected from the world outside

There’s no chassidim with whom to farbreng
For just one oh how he yearns
There’s no paper and there is no pen
In his machshovo to the Rebbe he turns

Chorus:
In my pain I know your with me
When I am lost your torah is my guide
And when Im broken your smile lifts me
Your reassuring hand is open wide

Your holy face now I can’t see
Still I know you cry with me
No step I take is on my own
A Chassid never is alone

It’s the final Friday night of camp
Beryl listens anxiously
The director speaking with such pride
Of his days in 770

The night is over all have gone to bed
Beryl sits and cries alone
For the Rebbe I do all I can
Yet his encouragement I’ve never known

Chorus:
In my hatzlacha I know you’re with me
In my life your Torah is my guide
And when I need you your smile lifts me
Your reassuring hand is open wide

Your holy face now I can’t see
Still I know you’re proud of me
No step I take is on my own
A Chassid never is alone

Chorus:
In Gan Yisroel I know you’re with me
Your lessons I learnt here will be my guide
And when I need you your smile lifts me
Now I know your hand is open wide

Your holy face now I can see
Now I know you’re proud of me
No step I take is on my own
A Chassid never is alone
