In preparation for Gimmel Tammuz, hundreds of bochurim from Yeshivos across North America came together for a regional Shabbos Hachana or Yom Hachana organized by Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim. Each program included shiurim, farbrengens, and resulted in practical hachlatos commitments.

Oholei Torah Shiur Daled at the Ohel:

Bochurim from Oholei Torah’s Shiur Daled spent an inspiring Shabbos at the Ohel, where they were hosted at the Vaad House near the Ohel. The program featured shiurim and farbrengens led by Rabbi Shloime Kaplan and Rabbi Shmulik Shur. The Mashpiim gave Shiurim on Friday night and Shabbos day, and the Farbrengens lasted until deep into the night and late on Motzei Shabbos.

Regional Shabbos Hachana in Detroit:

A Shabbos Hachana took place at the beautiful Zekelman Campus in Detroit, gathering over 250 Bochurim from the Shiur Gimmel classes of Mesivtas Chicago, Toronto, and Detroit. The Shabbos program included shiurim, spirited Sidrei Niggunim, and Farbrengens that extended well into the night. Among the Mashpiim were Rabbi Shmaya Shmotkin, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Gourarie, Rabbi Yosef Leib Vechter, and Rabbi Yosef Gurevitch.

A highlight of the Shabbos was a collective initiative undertaken by all the Bochurim to take on Hachlatos to be upheld through Gimmel Tammuz, with a special system to ensure that Bochurim carry through.

Regional Shabbos Hachana in Chicago:

Chicago also hosted its own Shabbos Hachana for younger shiurim, with Bochurim traveling in from Detroit and Toronto to join the uplifting program. The Shabbos was marked by a warm atmosphere of Achdus, lively Sidrei Niggunim and Farbrengens, and inspiring words from local Mashpi’im.

Regional Yom Hachana in Westchester:

In Westchester, the Yeshiva Mesivta Menachem hosted a special Yom Hachana with participation from Yeshivos in Pomona, New Haven, Suffield, and Westchester. The event featured shiurim and farbrengens by respected Mashpiim, including Rabbi Mendel Levin, Rabbi Zalman Heller, and Rabbi Bentche Bluming. Special guest speaker Rabbi Yisroel Deren, a longtime shliach and renowned orator, inspired the bochurim with his personal reflections and heartfelt message.

The program included a Seder Sichos, after which the Bochurim watched the Sicha they had learnt, a Seuda with speakers and a video presentation, Farbrengens, and a Hachlota initiative.
