The annual production of Bnos Menachem High School will take place this Motzei Shabbos and Sunday, depicting the Yidden’s daring mesiras nefesh under Persian rule.
Bnos Menachem High School is proud to present CHECKMATE; a musical performance depicting the Yidden’s daring mesiras nefesh under Persian rule.
Set in Mashhad, Iran in the year 1839, the Yidden faced a blood libel and pogrom that forced them to outwardly reject their Yiddishkeit and keep their observance of Torah and mitzvos far from the eyes of their prying neighbors and government officials.
With the future of the Yidden in Mashhad at stake, will the characters make the right move?
Each step forward, however small, can win the game.
