Next Monday, tens of thousands of men, women, and children, will gather for the dedication of the ninth Children’s Sefer Torah. Chabad communities around the world are mobilizing to fulfill the Rebbe’s directive to participate “in body and money.”

Here’s how you can take part and merit the special blessings associated with this mitzvah.

Excitement is building throughout Chabad communities around the world as preparations continue for the historic dedication of the ninth Children’s Sefer Torah. The event will take place next Monday, the 20th of Menachem Av, the yahrtzeit of Harav Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, the Rebbe’s father.

The festive procession will make its way to the Kosel, where tens of thousands of Chabad chassidim and Jews from across the spectrum are expected to gather.

With just over a week remaining, the Children’s Sefer Torah Committee is making a final push to cover the considerable expenses of completing the Sefer Torah and hosting the large-scale event.

At this time, Chabad chassidim across the globe are answering the Rebbe’s call to contribute “more than one’s means” and to participate both personally and financially in the Children’s Sefer Torah project.

Rabbi Shmuel Greisman, chairman of the Children’s Sefer Torah Committee, noted that the Rebbe himself contributed to the Sefer Torah and said that those who support it would merit new channels of blessing and abundance.

Supporters at the various donation levels will receive special gifts, as detailed on the campaign website.

Everyone who donates 236 shekels or more, corresponding to the numerical value of the Rebbe’s own contribution, will receive a piece of the Sefer Torah mantle, regarded as a segulah for protection and blessing for the entire family. Donors will also have the opportunity to participate in special honors during the dedication ceremony itself.
