Bay Families Are Going the Extra Mile for Chassidishe Chinuch

The excited boys and girls of The Cheder of the Bay Area began their first day of school, eagerly welcoming their new teachers and meeting their new classmates.

The Cheder, run by Rabbi Raleigh and Fruma Resnick, is a bastion of energetic and uncompromising Chassidishe education. It serves families across the Bay Area, including tens of shluchim.

“The school began as a small co-op in our Chabad House and has since grown into a full-fledged K-8 educational institution with a growing enrollment of over 180 students, כן ירבו,” says Rabbi Resnick.

The students and staff go the extra mile – literally – to be a part of The Cheder community. Some families drive an hour and a half each way (!) – like the shluchim from Napa Valley in the north and S. Cruz in the south. They make the trip each morning and afternoon just to provide their children with a genuine chinuch and enjoy a day with friends, davening, and learning.

Despite having opened just a few years ago, the school operates at a high level of academic rigor and professionalism. Great focus is placed on motivating each student to push their limits and excel using their strengths and talents.

In an area like the Bay Area, known for its new-age openness and permissiveness, The Cheder is a cocoon of age-old holiness and chassidishkeit, raising a proud generation of chassidim.
