Argentina Kollel Celebrates a Decade of Torah

The Chabad community of Buenos Aires, Argentina, marked the tenth anniversary of Kollel ‘Ohel Yosef Moshe’ on Chof Av this year.

The Kollel, founded and funded by philanthropist R’ Chaim Eliezer Lapidus, was headed by Rosh Kollel Rabbi Chanania Yosef Aisenbach, the Rosh Kollel and author of Machne Yosef, a series of in-depth explanations of the Rambam, until his passing earlier this year.

Despite the many challenges presented in the past months to the community and the Kollel, the community and the yungeleit overcame them all, and the Kollel only grew stronger.

During the past year, with covid-19 lockdown shutting down most of Argentina, the yungeleit continued learning at home, not taking any break from their studies. Incredibly, during that time, they managed to finish the entire Hilchos Nida!

In previous years, the Kollel also covered the halachos of Basar beChalav, Taaruvot, Bishul Akum, Krias Hatora and Tztzis, among others.

The growth of the Kollel also caused a growth in the community as well. At the beginning the lower floor was enough for minyanin, but it quickly became necessary to use the upper floor as well. It is currently in the plans to integrate a patio to provide more space for the mispalelim

“May Hashem bless all the avrechim and mispalelim at this Kehila, together with Reb Chaim Lapidus and his wife, the founder and sponsor, and may this Beis Midrash soon be rejoined to the Beit Hamikdash with the arrival of the Moshiach,” the administration of the Kollel said.
