Over 500 bochurim from Chabad yeshivos across Eretz Yisroel, participated in a comprehensive exam on a large section of the Shulchan Aruch of the Alter Rebbe.

After seeing major success in past years, the initiative, led by Rabbi Avraham Alashvili with the support of Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim, focused this year on the detailed study of hilchos tefilah from the Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Aruch.

After three months of intensive study, Rabbi Alashvili conducted a rigorous test on the subject, which included 50 questions on sections 89-127 of the Shulchan Aruch.

The test took place last week, in the “Beis Zlata” hall in Kfar Chabad, bringing over 500 students together from across the country. The students were transported via organized buses from their respective yeshivos.

Rabbi Menachem Kenig, the mashgiach of Tomchei Temimim of Lod, was the emcee of the program. At the end of the test, each participant received a personal gift: a copy of the Shulchan Aruch of the Alter Rebbe with explanations by Rabbi Alashvili. Bochurim who passed the test successfully will be awarded financial prizes, with those who got the best marks receiving up to 1,000 shekels.

Rabbi Alashvili spoke about the Rebbe’s repeated requests for bochurim and yungelait to become proficient in the Shulchan Aruch of the Alter Rebbe and expressed confidence that this learning initiative would inspire greater dedication to the study of Shulchan Aruch.
