Yosef Yellin, a long-time resident of Crown Heights, passed away on Monday, 13 Adar, 5786.
He was 62 years old.
Yosef first became acquainted with Chabad while earning his degree in Chiropractic Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He later became close with Rabbi Shalom Ber Korf at his Chabad House in Delray Beach, Florida.
As a result of his growing connection with Chabad and the Rebbe, Yosef decided to move to Brooklyn, New York, where he attended Hadar HaTorah Yeshiva and would go on to spend the rest of his life as a member of the Crown Heights community.
Yosef was extremely perceptive, possessed tremendous curiosity, and was always engaged in current events. As a result, he was a fascinating conversationalist who often offered unique insights on both history and the world around him.
An accomplished athlete in his early years, Yosef experienced significant physical challenges later in life but always faced them with strength, grace, and humor.
The levaya for Yosef Anshel ben Aharon took place on Taanis Esther at 770 Eastern Parkway. Burial was at Old Montefiore Cemetery.
Yosef is survived by many friends throughout the community.
Is there shiva for him anywhere?
