Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Aharonov, Chairman of Tzach in Eretz Yisroel, farbrenged on Shabbos afternoon for the Bochurim of Yeshivas Lubavitch Toronto, lasting well into Motzei Shabbos.
Toronto-born Rabbi Aharonov spent Shabbos in his hometown in honor of the Shloshim of his mother, Rebbetzin Golda Aharonov. He joined Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Akiva Wagner for a Shabbos afternoon farbrengen in preparation for 28 Sivan and Gimmel Tammuz.
Two weeks ago, journalist Yaakov Rivlin reported in the ‘BaKehila’ newspaper that Rabbi Aharonov played an instrumental role in getting Naftali Bennet to step down from the idea of joining a left-wing government.
“Last week, Ayelet Shaked visited the home of Rabbi Yosef Aharonov, to be menachem avel. During the visit, Aharonov and Shaked talked privately for over an hour about Bennet’s plans to form a left-wing government,” Rivlin wrote.
Since the last election, Aharonov has been working alongside Australian philanthropist Rabbi Joseph Gutnick, to prevent Bennet from forming a left-wing government.
