With the hours progressing towards Yom Kippur, residents and guests rushed to fulfill the customs of Erev Yom Kippur, including the symbolic malkos, the second round of mikvah, and increasing in tzedaka.

Locals and guests packed 770 on Wednesday morning, Erev Yom Kippur to daven shacharis, request the customary lekach and give tzedaka to one of the countless pushkas and individuals collecting.

All Night Kaparos Held in Crown Heights

Locals and guests performed the custom of Kaparos at numerous locations in Crown Heights late Monday night and early Tuesday morning, Erev Yom Kippur 5783.

English-speaking Tishrei guests gathered Motzei Shabbos in the tent adjacent to 770 for a farbrengen in honor of Rebbetzin Chana‘s yahrzeit with mashpia Rabbi Yosef Katzman.

Rebbe’s Guests Welcomed at Grand Event

Over 1,000 bochurim gathered on Wednesday night for a grand Bruchim Habaim, welcoming the many guests who had traveled to spend the month of Tishrei by the Rebbe, addressed by Rabbis Yehuda Krinsky, Avrohom Shemtov, Yisroel Deren, Mendel Groner, Tzvi Telsner and philanthropist Itche Meir Hager.

Non-Stop Meals Served to Tishrei Guests

Delicious and nutritious meals are being served every day to hundreds of guests who traveled to New York to spend the month of Tishrei with the Rebbe. Dining areas are set up in the Eshel building and in a tent in the Oholei Torah parking lot.
