A class from Lubavitch Yeshiva on Crown Street took a special visit to the home of Rabbi Zalman Chanin, where he showed them his collection of thousands of editions of Tanya, the seminal work of Chabad Chassidus.
To date, the Tanya has been printed in over 7,000 editions in locations all around the world. The huge number of editions is due to the Rebbe’s campaign to have Tanya printed in each and every city where Yidden live.
Rabbi Chanin has been collecting Tanyas since the Rebbe launched the campaign, and today he has thousands of Tanyas, including many that are unique and one-of-a-kind.
Some of the special Tanyas that the students got to see where one printed during the Alter Rebbe’s lifetime, Tanyas printed during WWII, a Tanya fully printed in Braille, and many other unique Tanyas.
