A group of mashpi’im, colleagues and students of Reb Yoel Kahn joined his nephews at a visit to his gravesite, just feet away from the Rebbe’s Ohel, on the occasion of his first yahrzeit on Wednesday.

The group included Rabbis Leibel Altein, Nachman Schapiro, Chaim Shaul Brook, Yisroel Shimon Kalmenson, each who worked alongside Reb Yoel in various capacities to spread the Rebbe’s Torah, as well as Rabbis Motti Friedman, Ari Chitrik, Yossi Dimchovsky, Eli Mishulovin, Levi Telsner, Yosef Kratz and others.

After reciting the customary Tehillim, Rabbi Schapiro recited Kaddish, followed by a few brief words, and concluding by asking mechila from Reb Yoel if anyone ever did not accord him the proper respect.

The first yahrzeit of Reb Yoel was marked with a Kinus Torah and farbrengen in Crown Heights, as well as an evening of Chassidus learning in Boro Park. Two more events commemorating the yahrzeit will take place on Wednesday, with a Torah being completed in a private setting, as well as a farbrengen by the 770 Yeshiva in Reb Yoel’s house on Wednesday night.

In addition, a special online program in English will broadcast today, Wednesday, at 5 PM, exploring Reb Yoel Kahn’s impact on our generation and the legacy that he left us.
