On Sunday, May 19, at the Jewish Childrens Musuem from 3:00-5:00pm, the Art of Friendship Gallery will be open, displaying 144 pieces of Art, created by children and adults with special needs; members of the Friendship Circle of Brooklyn.
Bring along your family and friends and make this a memorable occasion for all our artists. Let our artists know that we are rooting for them, that we adore and love the work that they have produced. Let them feel like the stars they really are, with people “oohing and aahing” over each and every one of their masterpieces.
Whether you are a mother of a child with down syndrome, or a 25 year old with autism, the cheering, rooting and support is what give each of us the ability to play a game we may never have thought we could.
The art pieces that will be displayed at the Gallery have been created under the guidance of R’ Michoel Muchnik, Ms. Rosee Benabou and Ms. Chana Laber. Each of the 144 pieces, which explore a variety of mediums including wood, ceramics, strings, fire and oils, will be hung at the exhibit, are available for purchase on Sunday. The gorgeous “Mitzvah Note Collection” will also be available. The whole community – men, women and children – are invited to join, whether it’s to purchase a piece or to view and show support.
Dairy Hors D’oeuvres and cocktails will be served. Child friendly activities. Entry is complimentary.
Thanks to the Bear Givers Foundation, all proceeds from the sales will benefit future programs of the Friendship Circle of Brooklyn.
