Crown Heights Shomrim released safety guidance to the community ahead of the pro-Hamas rally planned for this Shabbos on Eastern Parkway.
The “Flood Brooklyn For Gaza” protest will be held this Shabbos at the Brooklyn Museum on Eastern Parkway, near the Crown Heights neighborhood.
Regarding the pro-terror protest that is scheduled for this Shabbos afternoon on Eastern Parkway and Washington Avenue, we would like to state the following:
- We are in constant contact with the NYPD, and as per the intelligence, there are no direct threats at our community at this time B”H.
- We strongly recommend that community members go to Shul as usual.
- We should always use caution and be aware of our surroundings. If you see something, say something by calling 911 and Shomrim at 718-774-3333.
- On Shabbos afternoon, we strongly recommend keeping a distance from the area surrounding the protest location.
- There is no indication at this time that the protest will get close to our shechuna, albeit we have a strong commitment from the NYPD that they will be ready and able to protect us.
- Shomrim will add extra vehicles to our weekly Shabbos patrol.
- Let us put our trust in Hashem. Daven and do a mitzvah in the merit of our brethren in Eretz Yisrael and around the world.
I just heard on a Hatzalah broadcast that the Governor in Florida said it is a Federal Crime to demonstrate for Hamas. That same law would make this demonstration illegal. Could the “community activists” please try to put a stop to it?
They write its for ‘Gaza’ not Hammas… – so thats probably not a crime
Yeah, it’s almost like those are two different things! Imagine!
Shalom, dear mishpochah and you courageous people with SHOMRIM. Thank you for your hard and dedicated work! May Ha’Shem, ha kadosh Baruch Hu, bless and be ever merciful in protecting all in the Jewish community and at 770 Eastern Parkway and CROWN Heights and beyond. Praying daily for all of you and your protection and safety. And especially on Shabbos during the protest. Shalom, dear ones! NEVER AGAIN!-Pamela Rae
