Lone IDF Soldiers Gifted Mehudar Daled Minim

Hundreds of widows and lone IDF soldiers from abroad received mehudar sets of Daled Minim ahead of Sukkos as part of a special initiative organized by Colel Chabad.

The distribution was carried out through Chessed Menachem Mendel, Colel Chabad’s social and educational division, which arranged the purchase and delivery of hundreds of carefully selected sets to recipients across Eretz Yisroel.

Throughout the year, Colel Chabad provides material assistance to tens of thousands of families across Eretz Yisroel, including food packages for families in need, direct financial support, medical assistance and other forms of day-to-day aid.

At the same time, the organization, founded by the Alter Rebbe and expanded by the Rebbeim throughout the generations, places an emphasis on addressing the recipients’ Yiddishkeit and spiritual needs alongside their material needs.

“This initiative was born from a deep desire and sense of shlichus to enable every Yid, including those facing difficult circumstances, to fulfill the mitzvos of Yom Tov b’hiddur, with peace of mind and genuine Chassidishe simcha,” Colel Chabad director Rabbi Sholom Duchman said.

This year’s distribution focused on two groups that receive ongoing support from the organization: hundreds of widows assisted through Chessed Menachem Mendel and hundreds of lone soldiers from abroad serving in the IDF.

Colel Chabad’s program for lone soldiers is led by Rabbi Mordy Botnick, who has for many years served as a source of support for English-speaking lone soldiers, together with Rabbi Shai Weisel. The organization’s program serving widows and orphans is directed by Rachel Marton.

Together with a team of volunteers, Colel Chabad representatives personally reached the soldiers at their bases and apartments, presenting each of them with a mehudar set of Daled Minim for Sukkos.

The large logistical effort included purchasing and distributing sets for both the soldiers and hundreds of widows across Eretz Yisroel.

The initiative was sponsored by the Renner family, whose contribution covered the Daled Minim distributed through the project.
