After months of dedicated learning and an electrifying live finals round, the Halikut Siyum, a flagship initiative of the Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim, transitioned into an evening of celebration befitting the magnitude of the accomplishment.
Bochurim were ushered into a beautifully prepared fleishig banquet, accompanied by lively music that immediately set a warm and uplifting tone. The atmosphere reflected not merely the end of a program, but the culmination of sustained effort, growth, and immersion in the Rebbe’s Torah.
Opening remarks were delivered by Rabbi Leima Wilhelm, who spoke about the power of disciplined, in-depth Torah study and the lasting impact it leaves on a bochur’s life. He called upon the Bochurim not to look at this as just a Siyum, but as an inspiration to continue learning until they complete the entire Likutei Sichos.
A newly produced video presentation followed highlighting two Bochurim whose lives were transformed by learning the Rebbe’s Sichos, including one bochur’s marathon drive to complete the entire 39 volumes of Likutei Sichos.
Special recognition was then given to participants of the iyun track, who not only learnt all the Sichos but the ha’aros of the Sichos as well.
The Talmidim Hashluchim who invested countless hours into facilitating the program in each of their respective Yeshivos were also honored. In a meaningful expression of hakaras hatov, the Vaad presented them with specially printed edition of Yimei Bireishis, acknowledging the dedication that made Halikut possible.
The keynote address was delivered by Rabbi Osher Farkash, who spoke passionately about the transformative power of learning the Rebbe’s Torah not only as an intellectual pursuit, but as a living force that shapes a bochur’s mindset, avodah, and daily conduct. His words resonated deeply, calling upon participants to carry the inspiration of Halikut forward into their continued growth.
The evening reached an emotional climax with the announcement of the overall Halikut champion: Berel Silberberg, who was awarded a full set of the Rebbe’s Torah. The moment sparked an outpouring of joy as hundreds of bochurim rose together in spirited dancing, celebrating not only an individual accomplishment, but a collective milestone of dedication to the Rebbe’s Torah.
