Immediately upon landing in Israel, Argentine President Mr. Javier Milei arrived at the Kosel for prayer as part of his second state visit to Eretz Yisroel since taking office. As in his previous visit, the president is expected to conclude his trip with a visit to the Kosel alongside the Prime Minister.
Last night (Monday), immediately upon landing in Israel, Argentine President Mr. Javier Milei arrived at the Kosel for prayer as part of his second state visit to Israel since taking office. As in his previous visit, the president chose to begin his official visit to Israel at the Kosel – the spiritual heart of the Jewish people.
Accompanying the president was a senior Argentine delegation, including Foreign Minister Mr. Gerardo Werthein, Presidential Secretary Ms. Karina Milei, Argentina’s Ambassador to Israel Rabbi Shimon Axel Wahnish, and his wife.
The president was welcomed by the Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, and the Director of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, Mr. Mordechai (Suli) Eliav. They both praised the president for his steadfast support of the Jewish people and the State of Israel and expressed deep appreciation for the strong tie s he maintains with the Jewish people and Israel.
During the visit, the president was visibly moved. Together with the rabbi, he recited a chapter of Psalms and offered a special prayer for the return of the hostages to their families.
As in his previous visit, the president is expected to return to the Western Wall at the conclusion of his visit – on Thursday evening – to end his official trip to Israel, in the presence of Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu.
At the conclusion of the visit, the president recited a personal prayer and wrote in the visitors’ book: “Freedom for Zion.”
